We went to see Lowtide play at The Greystones. Erin found the gig somewhere and after seeing the band list My Bloody Valentine, The Cure and Slowdive as influences we decided to go.
James Ewan Tait supported them, performing solo and coaxing a lot of Twin Peak-y vibes from his guitar. I had seen his name mentioned a lot but had never managed to see him perform. Lots of actual singing and fairly good songs.
Lowtide are an Australian band. They make a good amount of noise. Lots of washes and waves of distortion, nice bass lines, and lead guitar that had a very The Cure reminiscent sound, slightly flanged I guess. I'd go and see them again.
